What is The California Grand Tasting?
The California Grand Tasting is a new signature food and wine event from Visit Sacramento that brings together the celebrated wine experience of Legends of Wine with the acclaimed restaurants featured at The Grand Tasting. Guests can enjoy unlimited tastings from 30+ restaurants, wine from 25-30 regional wineries, craft beverage tastings, live entertainment and more.
When and where is The California Grand Tasting?
The California Grand Tasting takes place Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, in Ballroom A at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center. Nearest entry is located at the West Lobby (13th and K Streets) and escalators or elevators lead to the Ballroom Level. Sunset VIP Hour begins at 5 p.m., and General Admission begins at 6 p.m. The event ends at 9 p.m.
What is included with a General Admission ticket?
General Admission includes unlimited tastings from 30+ participating restaurants, wine tastings from 25-30 regional wineries, craft beverage tastings, mocktails, live entertainment, and event access from 6–9 p.m.
What is included with a VIP ticket?
VIP tickets include everything offered with General Admission, plus access beginning at 5 p.m. for Sunset VIP Hour, hosted by Sunset. During this exclusive first hour, VIP guests can enjoy first access to tastings, a welcome Tsar Nicoulai Caviar and Bogle sparkling wine pairing, and exclusive passed appetizers before General Admission begins at 6 p.m. VIP guests can stay and enjoy the event through 9 p.m.
Are food and beverage tastings unlimited?
Yes, guests can enjoy unlimited tastings from participating restaurants, wineries and craft beverage producers throughout the event. All tastings are included with your ticket.
Will there be nonalcoholic options?
Yes, mocktails will be available throughout the event, courtesy of Sky River Casino.
Is The California Grand Tasting replacing Legends of Wine?
The California Grand Tasting brings together Legends of Wine and The Grand Tasting into one signature food and wine experience. Guests can still enjoy the regional wineries and wine-tasting experience they loved at Legends of Wine, now alongside 30+ acclaimed restaurants, craft beverage producers, live entertainment, and more.
Is The California Grand Tasting 21+?
Yes. The California Grand Tasting is a 21+ event. All guests should bring a valid, government-issued photo ID for entry.
Where should I park?
Parking is available at several garages and lots within walking distance of the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center. Visit SacPark.org to reserve parking ahead of time.
Is the event ADA accessible?
Yes. The SAFE Credit Union Convention Center is ADA accessible.
Is there a bag policy at The California Grand Tasting?
There is no specific bag policy for the event. However, all bags will be checked at the entrance for the safety of our guests. Please review the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center’s list of prohibited items before arriving for speedy entry.
