The museum store is operated by DDSO Community Services, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering community-based art, employment, and life skills activities to enrich the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What are the store hours?: Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm

Where is the store located?: Near the Ronald Reagan statue in the California State Capitol basement. Take the stairs or the elevator down one floor after entering the museum.

Where is the pressed penny machine?: The pressed penny machine is located at the entrance of the store. There is also a penny collector’s book available for purchase.

Does the store stamp souvenir traveler’s passport books?: No, the tour desk manages the California Capitol stamp, but the store sells souvenir passport books.

Are school groups welcome in the store?: Yes, we ask that you limit groups to 20 students in the store at a time with at least 2 adult chaperones. $10 to $20 per student is sufficient for most youth products. No time to visit the store? Teachers can order pre-packaged gifts in advance (such as a pencil and sticker) with a 10% discount by calling the store with a credit card at least two business days before your visit.

Can you have a flag flown over the Capitol?: Yes, you can purchase a flag at the museum store and schedule a date to have it flown over the Capitol.
