IRONMAN California is back, and Sacramento is ready to cheer on thousands of athletes as they push their limits to finish the 140.6-mile race. Whether you’re supporting your favorite athlete or just looking to soak in the excitement, the race offers several prime spots to be a part of the action and refuel as the day goes on.

First Things First ... Make a Poster!
No triathlon is complete without creative posters from enthusiastic supporters. Be sure to swing by IRONMAN Village and get crafty by making a poster at the Sign-Making Station, presented by Downtown Commons, to cheer on your favorite athlete with.

For the Swim
For the early risers eager to catch the first leg of the race, the swim portion starts with athletes diving into the American River. Head to the Ziggurat Building in West Sacramento to watch the athletes exit the water after their 2.4-mile swim.

For the Bike Course
After the swim, athletes gear up for the 112-mile bike course. Silt Wine Company is hosting an IRONMAN California watch party giving you a front-row seat to catch all the action with breakfast burritos and tacos from Dos Gringos Taco Truck, an array of wines for purchase, and great music. Other great spots to cheer on athletes during this leg of the race include Franquette, a cozy café and wine bar, and Drake’s: The Barn, a two-acre beer garden in West Sacramento.

For the First Lap of the Run Course
As athletes transition into the marathon, the run course offers multiple places to watch and encourage your favorite athlete as they push toward the finish line. For those who may have cheered on athletes during the bike portion of the race at Franquette and Drake’s: The Barn, you can stay right there as athletes will pass by both of these locations again as they run. The Delta King at the Old Sacramento Waterfront is another great place to watch athletes complete the first lap of the run course as it offers fantastic views of the Sacramento River. Discovery Park, located near the entrance off Garden Highway, is perfect for families or groups looking to set up for a longer period and enjoy the outdoors as they support their athletes.

For the Final Lap of the Run Course & Finish Line
For the final lap of the run course, athletes need all the support they can get, and Sacramento offers plenty of great spots to cheer them on as they push toward the finish line. Head to Steamers in Old Sacramento or Old Soul on Capitol Mall (open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) for a mid-day coffee break. Cafeteria 15L is another great spectator spot offering delicious dining options near the course for a quick bite.
