Chanowk Yisrael began growing his own food in the wake of the Great Recession, and that led to him leaving his corporate job and working full time at the farm he founded: Yisrael Family Urban Farm.

Located in South Oak Park, one of Yisrael's goals was to share his knowledge of farming and growing food with his local community, helping people be more self-sustaining and resilient when it comes to food availability. On this week's episode of the Visit Sacramento Podcast, Yisrael shares how he and his farm have fared during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how the local community is responding to the services he offers.
