Visit Sacramento is proud to announce the launch of its "Neighborhood Guide" video series, which spotlights the diversity and hidden treasures of Sacramento's diverse and exciting neighborhoods.

The series, which kicked off with a spotlight on Stockton Boulevard in July 2024, is designed to expand and integrate tourism and economic development by highlighting culturally diverse neighborhoods and spots that are not typically on visitors' radars. The next installment, featuring Northgate Boulevard, is set to premiere in the first week of October, aligning perfectly with Hispanic Heritage Month.

The inception of this series can be linked back to the popularity of major events like the Aftershock and GoldenSky festivals. Recognizing the influx of visitors these events attract, Visit Sacramento saw an opportunity to create visual guides that highlight local, unique businesses. These guides are invaluable resources for festival-goers looking to explore Sacramento beyond the event grounds, enhancing their overall experience and encouraging extended stays in the city.

"Our mission is to connect visitors with unique Sacramento experiences while promoting economic development in diverse communities," said Sonya Bradley, Chief DEI and Community Relations Officer at Visit Sacramento. "This series embodies our commitment to integrating diversity and inclusion into Visit Sacramento's core campaigns and practices."

Future "Visit Sacramento Neighborhood Guide”  series videos under consideration include the following  neighborhoods:

  • Broadway Corridor/Southside Park
  • Oak Park
  • Franklin Boulevard

Each episode highlights the unique aspects of these communities and how they contribute to Sacramento. The series targets a diverse audience, including visitors seeking an authentic Sacramento experience and locals interested in exploring their backyard.

"We want to offer a chance for people to 'live like the locals' and discover the hidden flavors and treasures in our neighborhoods," Sonya added.

Visit Sacramento has partnered with business improvement districts, local chambers of commerce, and neighborhood associations to ensure authentic storytelling. The upcoming Northgate Boulevard video involves the Gardenland Northgate Neighborhood Association and the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
