Safely Visiting Sacramento

Sacramento – and California in general – currently have no widespread mask mandates for the Covid-19 pandemic. However, masks are still required in some "high-risk settings," according to the California Department of Public Health. See a full breakdown here.

Hotels, restaurants, breweries, wineries, retail and other businesses do not have capacity limits, though many are voluntarily reducing indoor seating, asking customers to follow other social distancing procedures and taking other measures to ensure their places of business remain comfortable for patrons and employees alike.

Many Sacramento hospitality businesses have taken a safety pledge to go above and beyond requirements when it comes to cleanliness and sanitation practices. For more details, visit the S.A.F.E. Sacramento Pledge page on our website.

Meetings and Events

California still has restrictions on what it terms "mega events," which are those with indoor capacities 1,000 or more attendees, or outdoor events with 10,000 or more attendees. Vaccine/negative Covid testing is required for the indoor events, but not for outdoor events. Learn more here. The California Department of Public Health announced Friday, March 18, that the vaccine/testing requirements for indoor events will no longer be in place starting April 1.
