The California State Fair and Food Festival is back in Sacramento from July 15-31, 2022.

Visiting the California State Fair has been a must for locals and visitors alike for decades, and after a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, fair officials say they're back and excited to welcome visitors once again as the fair showcases everything from food, animals, the California counties and, of course, provides entertainment on rides, fashion shows, live music and more.

Tickets to the fair and food festival can be purchased online, and parking at the Cal Expo fairgrounds is $15 and cash-only, unless purchased as part of a package.

Highlights of this year's fair include, of course, the rides, with sections for younger kids as well as older kids and adults, a pie-eating contest, deep-fried bananas, the "bacon bomb" cinnamon roll, funnel cakes, and more. There are a multitude of new attractions and exhibitions at this year's fair, including food trucks and an informational cannabis exhibit, featuring a scientific judging of different cannabis plants.

Other exhibits include an explanation of how to interpret what our pets are thinking and communicating, a fashion show, animals, horse racing (yes, you can place your bets) and the fully working farm at the rear end of the fairgrounds.
