Sacramento is one of California’s most accessible major cities with stress-free and convenient entrance points.  Sacramento International Airport (SMF), located just 15 minutes from downtown, offers more than 130 non-stop flights per day and limitless connection possibilities with 11 major airlines and regional carriers.  SMF is often a quicker and more affordable alternative than larger airports in the state.

In October 2011, the 44-year-old Terminal B was replaced by an architectural icon for California’s capital – the new Central Terminal B.  The billion dollar makeover includes a new landside terminal, an automated people mover, a two-level roadway and 19 additional gates – over three times the size of the previous terminal.

Passengers enjoy easy-in, easy-out convenience, free wireless Internet, locally based retailers and restaurants and a commitment to customer service. For the second year in a row, Sacramento International Airport has been ranked fourth in North America for customer service by Airports Council International (ACI), the international trade association for commercial airports.  It also received its highest marks from passengers in the sub-categories of cleanliness, overall satisfaction, and ease in way-finding, efficiency and courtesy of check-in staff.

The 21st century, energy-efficient terminal complex features an innovative mix of environmentally friendly design and an $8 million eye-catching public art program including a 56-foot, 10,000-pound aluminum red rabbit.  You’ll have to see it to believe it.

For a more scenic route, Amtrak makes frequent daily trips in and out of Sacramento, and the station is conveniently located downtown.  Also located at the junction of Interstate 80 and Interstate 5, Sacramento gives drivers plenty of ways to get here. So just get here!
