A romantic dinner, a family outing or a fun night out with pals, there are many ways to celebrate Valentine's Day in Sacramento with the ones who mean the most to you. This year, the holiday of love falls on a Friday (and a holiday weekend) so it lends itself to an entire Valentine's Day weekend. While every day is the perfect day to share your love with those closest to your heart, who doesn't love any excuse to plan something fun and be with your favorite person and/or people?

Romantic Retreat
If a romantic night out with your significant other is what you have in mind, make a reservation at one of many romantic restaurants. Check out Ella Dining Room and Bar, Mulvaney's B&L, Waterboy or Empress Tavern. If you're thinking more casual, how about a bucket of chicken and bottle of bubbly at Bawk, pizza and beers at One Speed or a cheese board with wine at The Rind? Or jump aboard the Sacramento River Train for their Valentine's Dinner Train with a three-course meal.

Cirque de Soleil: Amaluna is playing in Sacramento Jan. 22-Feb. 23, so grab your tickets and add a show to your night out. Maybe a little friendly competition is your thing? Go bowling at Punch Bowl Social, play some PacMan at Coin-Op Game Room or see who can win a round of mini golf at Flatstick Pub.

Round out your night with a shared (or not) dessert at Rick's Dessert Diner.

Temple Coffee

Family Night Out
Disney on Ice: Mickey's Search Party is at Golden 1 Center Feb. 10-14 so grab your tickets now and have a great time with the kiddos. If you don't want to eat at Golden 1 Center, walk down to Pizza Rock for some pizza pies or Burger Lounge for burgers and shakes.

On Sunday, Feb. 9, the Sacramento Zoo will host I Heart Sacramento Zoo day. Grab some warm drinks from Temple and head over for valentine-themed animal enrichments, informative talks and activity tables – all included with general admission. While in the area, grab lunch with the family at Vic's Ice Cream afterward.

Looking to mix up the movie experience? Grab some Suzie Burger and head to the West Wind drive-in to catch a family-friendly flick.

Grab Your Pals
Grab your best friends and jump aboard the Sac Brew Bike. Pedal your way through downtown and midtown Sacramento on the ultimate pub tour. Make the perfect playlist and pedal, dance and laugh your way around town. If you're looking to get out of the city limits, grab a picnic lunch and head to one of eight wine regions to visit the perfect winery (or two or three) for your group.

If you're looking for a zen way to celebrate with your besties, head to Asha Urban Baths, an old-world-style wellness bathhouse. Unwind together while you soak in the hot and cold tubs, relax in the sauna and treat yourself to a massage. When you're done, head over to Vibe Health Bar for a healthy and light meal or, if you're looking to indulge, Real Pie Company is just down the street.

Celebrate a night early and head over to Artmix: The Big Easy at Crocker Art Museum. Mix it up at an adults-only art party gallery tours, art-making, and cocktails.

There is no wrong way to celebrate Valentine's Day and the possibilities are endless in Sacramento. Add a hotel room to any celebration and treat your self to a luxury night's sleep and don't worry about making the bed in the morning.
