SACRAMENTO, CA-The Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is pleased to announce the promotion of Sarah Atilano to Director of Sales and the hiring of Jeff Dougherty as Convention Sales Manager.
Atilano was hired in October 2010 as Sr. Convention Sales Manager. In addition to directly managing the SCVB sales team, she will also focus her energies on targeting the California State Association market (200 + rooms on peak nights). Prior to joining the SCVB, Sarah was Director of Sales at the Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport Burlingame where she led a team of nine and received numerous awards of excellence.
Dougherty has spent five years in Sacramento hotel sales, most recently with the Holiday Inn Capitol Plaza. He will target the California State Association (less than 200 rooms on peak night), Youth Sports and SMERF markets.
Jeff received a Bachelor of Science degree from Sacramento State University. He's a member of the Society of Government Meeting Planners (SGMP) and Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA).
"It's hard to believe that Sarah has been with us such a short time as she complements the SCVB team so well. We quickly realized that she was capable of great things," said Steve Hammond, president and CEO of the SCVB. "Jeff brings a tremendous amount of experience, enthusiasm for the destination and strong relationships with clients to his position. We are fortunate to have both Sarah and Jeff on the Sacramento CVB team and know that they'll further the momentum that we've been able to achieve."
