The British Educational Travel Association (BETA) has announced the 2011 winners of the British Youth Travel Awards and Sacramento took home the Bronze award. The awards acknowledge the high achievers in youth, student and educational travel.
Sacramento received the Bronze award for excellence in its Youth Travel Program, finishing behind Germany and Australia. With a record number of nominations, Sacramento was honored to finish in the top three in international youth destinations.
Earlier this year, the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau's (SCVB) tourism team submitted an application for the category of Best International Youth Destination to the BETA along with the necessary documentation to support our application.
Sacramento offers a variety of educational experiences from history and government to environmental to agricultural. The Capital City is also an ideal destination for performance groups as there are numerous performance venues in the area.
