Sacramento Century Challenge

October 1, 2022

This is the ninth annual event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sacramento Club Foundation to benefit the Sacramento Children’s Home Crisis Nursery. It is a fundraising bike ride with 4 routes (100 / 63 / 36 / 16 miles) through the Sacramento River Delta region. All routes start on Capitol Mall in Sacramento, go over the Tower Bridge through West Sacramento, and continue on to Isleton. The routes are fully SAG-supported with continuously-roving vehicles equipped with ham radio operators for communication.1100 registered riders are expected. Water and portable toilets are located at the start and finish on Capitol Mall and along the routes at rest and water stops. There will be a light breakfast served at Capitol Mall for all riders, with healthy snacks at the stops along the way and lunch in Isleton for the full century riders. The routes all finish on Capitol Mall, where there will be a post-ride festival featuring live music, beer, wine and food trucks. All registered riders receive a meal ticket for a meal at the food trucks and for the choice of a soft drink, beer or wine.

Since its first year, this fundraiser has raised over $570,000 to date (after expenses) with all proceeds benefitting local at-risk children. This year’s beneficiary is again the Crisis Nursery, and the event is run by over 200 volunteers.

Maps are available and registration is now open at sacramentocentury.com.
