Health and Safety Protocols
(Updated: 10/1/20) Currently, no large gatherings are allowed in Sacramento County (or anywhere in California). However, facilities and hotels are adding stringent health and safety protocols to ensure guests are comfortable upon the return to meetings. The new SAFE Credit Union Convention Center recently received its GBAC Star Accreditation which identifies the convention center as a showcase example of commitment to ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment employees, customers, and stakeholders.
Sacramento Convention Center Construction
(Updated: 10/1/20) The schedule for the completion of the convention center is still on schedule. Furniture, fixtures and equipment are starting to arrive, continuing through December. On the east side of the convention center, the window glazing is complete. On the west side, the concrete floors have been completed. Perimeter framing and the roof are well underway to enclose the building and allow for the internal work to begin. In addition, data services are starting installation.
Destination Updates
(Updated: 10/1/20) Sacramento, while still under shelter-in-place orders, is allowing 25 percent capacity indoor dining at restaurants. Many restaurants have al-fresco dining available either expanded onto the sidewalks or into closed-off streets. Attractions with outdoor spaces, including Old Sacramento Waterfront, museum and parks, are open to the public while following mask and social distancing rules, and staying within your family unit. Several indoor museums will open mid-October with limited capacity and advanced reservations. Sacramento County COVID-19 Updates
(Updated: 10/1/20) Sacramento County has been downgraded to the red tier by the California Department of Public Health. This means that our risk level has moved to substantial from widespread. Therefore, some non-essential indoor businesses have reopened at 25 percent capacity, including indoor dining, movie theaters, churches and personal services. Other non-essential services that can open must do so with modifications. Please check the COVID-19 website for detailed information.
