El Dorado Winery Association member wineries are a select group of small, independent and family-owned wineries invested in the agriculture of the El Dorado and Fair Play American Viticultural Areas (AVA). Over 75% of the wine produced here is both grown and produced locally.

Our mountain vineyards are on steep hillsides with warm summer days and cool nights. It’s an environment that gives wines luscious fruit, an alluring balance, gentle tannins, and body and depth. El Dorado County has over 40 wineries, growing more than100 varietals.

@artsandcultureeldorado`s newest exhibition, “Ars Vinifera: The Art of the Wine Label,” opens on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Switchboard Gallery.
It showcases the work of some of the region’s talented artists who have partnered with local wineries to create art on a bottle—original artworks that grace the labels of El Dorado County`s world-class wines!
The new exhibition will complement El Dorado Passport Weekend on April 20-21, as the Switchboard gallery will be open to the public on both days.

It`s been a minute since we introduced ourselves, and we`ve seen a few new faces around here. Hi! 👋🏻 We’re the El Dorado Winery Association (EDWA), a group of small, independent, and fun-loving wineries in El Dorado County, California, with a passion for growing and crafting high-quality wines in our high-altitude Sierra foothill landscape.
A few of our likes include under-the-radar varietals (Alicante Bouschet, anyone?), summer afternoons before the harvest, and wines that don’t take themselves too seriously (people, too).
Some facts about us:
🍷 We’re made up of over 40 family-owned wineries in El Dorado County
🍷 Collectively, we grow 73 varietals (44 reds + 29 whites). This variety is not a lack of focus but reflects our complex terrain!
🍷 We feature wines from three AVAs: El Dorado, Fair Play, and Sierra Foothills
🍷 Our signature event, Passport, has been around for 33 years!
