You might already be familiar with our Sacramento hotels, but are you aware of what’s happening here now?  Sure, hotel rooms, meeting space, and great customer service are ingredients for a successful meeting, but it is a city’s energy, amenities and character that make it an unforgettable experience.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW

More space. Better amenities. Environmentally friendly. In May 2017, the Sacramento City Council approved a plan to move forward with design plans to renovate and expand the Sacramento Convention Center. This exciting project will create a dynamic center for conventions, meetings, cultural experiences and more for years to come. An expanded exhibit hall of 161,500 total square feet and a new 40,000-sq.-ft. ballroom will enhance the usability of the space and add more options to meeting planners as they schedule their conferences. Construction is slated to begin in January 2019 with the convention center closing in summer 2019, and reopening in fall 2020. Sign up for weekly updates.

CH-CH-CHANGES

A lot has changed in Sacramento in recent years. There is an unwavering momentum of growth and excitement in our city. Being named America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital turned our restaurant scene upside down and sunny side up. Downtown and Midtown opened many new restaurants, adding to the area’s nearly 300 eateries. In October 2016, the Golden 1 Center opened in downtown, Sacramento’s new entertainment and sports center. This is our biggest arrival ever and it’s changing the entire K Street corridor. Other big arrivals include a new entertainment district, DOCO or Downtown Commons, and the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, which has opened right next to the Golden 1 Center. If that wasn’t enough, plans are underway to expand and renovate the Sacramento Convention Center to include additional exhibit and meeting space and a 40,000-foot ballroom.

USE ME, BABY

You might already have a great working relationship with some of our hotels, so why would you use me? First and foremost, I’m just fun. I’m passionate about my city and love selling it, and have become known as “Mr. Sacramento”.  I will always go that extra mile for my clients. I’ve repelled off a building for the Brain Injury Association of California and dressed as a leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day for the California Charter Schools Association. I’m not just your Visit Sacramento sales manager, I’m your new best friend.

How else can I help you?

  1. I know our hotels. Hotels have lots of unique and flexible spaces not published in their capacity charts and floor plans. I might be able to offer you hotels you wouldn’t have considered.

  2. I’m on the pulse of our city’s development. You’ll be the first to know about new restaurants, bars, and attractions.

  3. Uncover unique venues for your off-site events.

  4. Connect you directly with our partners for any service you may need.

  5. Access to promotional materials and attendance builders to wow your delegates.

ASSOCIATION MEETING GURU

I’ve worked the association meetings market for more than seven years. I’m deeply involved with CalSAE and have chaired several committees including the Capital Regional Council, and won Industry Partner of the Year in 2015. In 2018, I will be joining the Board of Directors. I have also won several awards with MPI Sacramento/Sierra Nevada Chapter, and I'm a proud past president. My involvement and passion for this market have given me an understanding of what works for association meetings.

DID YOU KNOW?

Recently, Forbes named Sacramento one of America’s Coolest Cities based on several factors including entertainment, recreational amenities, the city’s “foodie” culture, restaurants, and bars per capita. Now that's pretty cool.

WHAT MEETING PLANNERS THINK OF US

MR. SACRAMENTO

Look!  Up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. Nope, it’s me…Mr. Sacramento!  I’m able to rappel off tall hotel buildings. I’m faster than a speeding RFP, and more powerful than any other meeting destination. I can book you a perfect hotel and fulfill your service needs in a blink of an eye. Let me be your super hero.
