Join award winning artist Emma Brown in learning the expressive possibilities of charcoal in this welcoming, beginner friendly class. Students will be introduced to essential materials such as vine and compressed charcoals and learn the foundational techniques such as shading, blending, and mark-making. Through guided exercises focused on light and shadow, value, texture, and simple composition, participants will build confidence, strengthen observational skills, and create dynamic drawings in a supportive environment. No prior drawing experience is required.
