R25 Theater Group presents the Sacramento premiere of the Stephen Sachs's "Bakersfield Mist" with Julie Anchor as Maude and Blair Leatherwood as Lionel. "Bakersfield Mist" opens April 5 and runs through May 5 in the Wilkerson Theatre, Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets for Fridays and Saturdays are $22 and Sundays are $20 at http://r25theater.org/. Directed by Richard Winters, Sachs's two-person play is inspired by true events. The hilarious and thought-provoking comedy-drama that asks vital questions about what makes art and people truly authentic. Maude is an unemployed bartender living in a trailer park, with a painting she bought for a few bucks from a thrift store. Despite almost trashing it, she's now convinced it's a lost masterpiece by Jackson Pollock worth millions. But when world-class art expert Lionel Percy flies over from New York and arrives at her trailer to authenticate the painting, he has no idea what he is about to discover. As Maude says, "Life is like sex. You can either lay back and get screwed, or climb on top and ride the hell out of it." "Bakersfield Mist" is presented by R25 Theatre Group with the support of Ray Tatar's California Stage. Tickets are also available at the box office 30 minutes before curtain.
