The Sacramento Speakers Series is a community lecture series that runs from October through April with roughly one lecture per month. The series is open to the public by subscription to the entire series of speakers. Dr. Lisa Genova is an American neuroscientist and author. She is a leader in the research and understanding of the human brain. Lisa graduated valedictorian, summa cum laude from Bates College with a degree in Biopsychology and has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Harvard University. She is a New York Times bestselling author of several books including Still Alice about Alzheimer's which was adapted into a film starring Julianne Moore who won the Best Actress Oscar. Her recent nonfiction book, REMEMBER: The Science of Memory and the Art of Forgetting became an instant New York Times bestseller.
