About the Speaker: Christopher R. Pook, who was born in England, is generally regarded as one of the most innovative motorsports executives in North America. He is responsible for the creation of the annual Grand Prix of Long Beach, now in its 44th year; he has created temporary circuit racing venues in Las Vegas, Nevada; Dallas, Texas; Meadowlands, New Jersey; Denver, Colorado; Del Mar, California; and St. Petersberg, Florida.
In addition, he re-built permanent multi-purpose motor sports facilities in St. Louis, Missouri and Memphis, Tennesee. In each of the venues, Pook created Public/Private “Partnerships” that deliver positive economic impacts to the host cities. He has served on the Formula 1 Commission of the FIA, the International Governing Body of motor sports worldwide, The Automobile Competition Committee for the United States and has represented the FIM’s World Superbike Series. He has consulted to numerous Cities in their evaluation of both motor sports events and motor sports venues, and continues today to provide Consulting Services in the motor sports industry.
