St. Patrick’s Day activities get started this weekend, but continue on through the official day. As usual, Sacramento is full of a variety of events to keep you entertained. Why not wear green all week and take part in all the spirit Sacramento has to offer? Here’s a round-up of events that’ll allow you to celebrate Irish tradition however you see fit!

Saturday, March 12:

Food & Wine: Hooligans & Shenanigans Pub Crawl

Pre-game breakfast 10am at The Palms Clubhouse; Pub Crawl starts from Rubicon Brewery at 1pm

Put your drinking pants on and join for the 1st Annual Hooligans & Shenanigans St. Paddy's Day Pub Crawl. It starts early with a hearty Irish breakfast and some pre-game drinking at The Palms Clubhouse. From there, head downtown for a full day of debauchery!

Noon-2pm; Unleashed by Petco – Arden
Come one, come all to a St. Patrick's Day costume party for pets of all breeds and sizes. Let your pet strut their stuff in green while they chow down on animal cookies and frozen yogurt. Prizes for best dressed pet in green include gift baskets for dogs, cats, and other critters.

Festivals: 15th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival

Noon-6pm *Parade begins 1pm; Old Sacramento State Historic Park

Bagpipes, drum corps, Irish step dancers, costumed marchers, and festive pageantry, bring the luck of the Irish to parade watchers during Sacramento's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. There's plenty to see and do before and after the parade, as the streets of Old Sacramento come alive in a family-friendly event appropriate for all ages.

The St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl is sponsored by The 5hundy Social Club. Join in for Sacramento's largest pub crawl! Once again 5hundy has teamed up with some of the best bars in Sacramento to bring you their annual St. Patrick's Day celebration.

 

Monday, March 14:

Fundraisers: St. Baldrick's Day Fundraiser

5pm-8pm; de Vere’s Irish Pub

Join as we shave some heads! This year there will be an outdoor stage and a beer garden, with all profits from the Beer Garden donated to St. Baldrick's. This is your opportunity to be a hero for kids with cancer--whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate!

 

Thursday, March 17:

Festivals: St. Patrick's Day Pub Party

8am-2am; de Vere’s Irish Pub

Here, you can enjoy the beautiful woodwork, family heirlooms, friendly banter, and of course, the perfect pint of Guinness (a specialty they’ve mastered). As soon as the pub doors open, famous Irish coffees will be piping hot and ready to serve. At 11am, the sidewalks will close down and the outside venue will open, which will include an outdoor kitchen serving traditional Irish fare (like corned beef and cabbage) and a stage featuring live entertainment throughout the day.

Wil O’Mylar and Ken Burnett perform traditional Irish music for Gallagher’s Irish Pub’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. Mylar returns by popular demand for the third year to entertain Sacramento St. Patrick’s Day revelers. Be sure to wear green and come early to get a seat.
