One of the most popular events in downtown Sacramento each year is the Save Mart Grape Escape. Wines, beers and food from America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital all come together in the heart of the city June 7, 2014.
More than 40 wineries, 25 restaurants and eight breweries from the Sacramento region will be on-hand passing out samples, giving you a chance to taste some of the best food and drink that America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital has to offer.
The Sacramento wine region is characterized not just by its outstanding quality, but also by its approachability. At Save Mart Grape Escape 2014, you will get to choose from about 200 wines from eight regional counties: Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin and Yolo. Learn more about Sacramento's wine region here.
Local chefs will face off in a challenge hosted by Good Day Sacramento’s Mark S. Allen. See chefs Brian Mizner of Hook & Ladder Manufacturing Co., Ian MacBride of Lucca Restaurant & Bar, Carolyn Kumpe of Renwood Winery and Jason Poole of Dawson’s of the Hyatt compete for first place.
Once the event concludes, take advantage of Sacramento’s warm summer nights to explore Downtown Sacramento’s food scene, head into Midtown Sacramento for more locally owned restaurants and nightlife locations, or head to Old Sacramento and stroll along the waterfront.
