This exhibit features 45 portraits of Sacramento's poets by local artist Suzanne Johnson, who was commissioned by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC) in 2006-2008 to create the portraits for a deck of cards. The reception includes readings by Julia Connor, Patrick Grizzell, Ann Menebroker, and Kathryn Hohlwein, to name a few.

Over a decade in existence, the parade has become a celebrated tradition filling the streets with over 500 costumed marchers, military regiments, marching bands, uniformed police and fire professionals, cultural organizations, and much more.
