Whether you are coming to Sacramento for business or pleasure, there’s a variety of accommodations to meet your needs as well as your budget. In addition to the city’s two core convention hotels - the Sheraton Grand Sacramento and Hyatt Regency Sacramento - situated just steps from the Sacramento Convention Center (currently undergoing an expansion), there are plenty of other options that may be a great fit for you.
Best Western Sutter House. Located just four blocks northwest of the convention center, four blocks north of the Capitol and 10 blocks east of the Old Sacramento Waterfront, the Best Western Sutter House property might be the perfect location for guests who want (or need) to be downtown, but also desire to be off the beaten path. A small property of just under 100 rooms, Sutter House offers many of the amenities of larger properties such as a pool and fitness center, with the addition of some added amenities like complimentary breakfast, free parking and free WiFi.
Embassy Suites Sacramento Riverfront Promenade. The 240-room Embassy Suites located in the Old Sacramento Waterfront overlooks not only the city’s historic district, but also the Sacramento River and the golden Tower Bridge that connects to West Sacramento. If you are traveling with family or friends, this all-suite property is the place to stay in downtown. Standard amenities for Embassy Suites properties include a complimentary cook-to-order breakfast, evening hosted reception, business center, fitness center and one of the city’s few indoor swimming pools.
Hilton Garden Inn South Natomas. While this property is located a few miles north of downtown, the Hilton Garden Inn South Natomas is still a great choice if you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay. Tucked away in a small enclave in South Natomas, the Hilton Garden Inn is still close to restaurants as well as I-5, which takes you straight into downtown. Amenities you’ll find here that you won’t often find downtown are free parking, free airport shuttle and free WiFi. The hotel also offers a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast and has an on-site restaurant.
Holiday Inn Express Sacramento Convention Center. Located just down the street from the historic Memorial Auditorium and just a few blocks from the Sacramento Convention Center, the Holiday Inn Express offers great value for a downtown property. Guests receive free WiFi, free parking and complimentary hot breakfast. The property also offers a business center, fitness center and off-site restaurant delivery.
Kimpton Sawyer Hotel. Downtown Sacramento’s newest hotel, the chic Kimpton Sawyer is located in the new Downtown Commons (DOCO) shopping and entertainment district, home to the Golden 1 Center arena where the NBA’s Sacramento Kings play. This luxury boutique hotel overlooks the arena and offers a rooftop swimming pool, lounge and bar, as well as Echo & Rig steakhouse and Punch Bowl Social for fun and games. The Kimpton, which is also pet-friendly, is close to the Capitol and the Old Sacramento Waterfront.
Vagabond Inn Executive Sacramento Old Town. The most budget-friendly property on our list, the location of the Vagabond Inn is prime. Next door to the Sacramento Valley Amtrak Station and Old Sacramento Waterfront, the Vagabond Old Town is also within walking distance of the California State Capitol and Sacramento Convention Center. Guests enjoy free parking and Wi-Fi as well as complimentary buffet breakfast. The hotel is also pet-friendly, so no need to leave Fido at home!
