New Year's Eve

The biggest, admission-free New Year’s party in Sacramento is the 2017 Sky Spectacular on Old Sacramento’s waterfront. This year’s event will once again cater to residents of all ages, with live music, food and drinks, games and an awe-inspiring fireworks show.

“New Year’s Eve is all celebrating with family and friends and looking forward to the year ahead,” said Visit Sacramento President & CEO Mike Testa. “The Sky Spectacular in Old Sacramento is the perfect place for the Sacramento community to celebrate the past and toast to the future.”

From 6-9 p.m., attendees of all ages can enjoy food and drinks from vendors like What's Poppin'? Kettle Corn, Rainbow Snow, Chico Bean and Outta This World Concessions, along with a balloon artist and inflatable games. The Golden 1 Credit Union Stage will have the popular Thunder Cover band play from 6-10 p.m., and magician Mr. Illusion will also perform for the crowd. And to usher in the New Year, an inspiring fireworks display from multiple locations will serve as the evening’s finale at 9 p.m.

The New Year’s Eve Sky Spectacular will take place rain or shine. Please note that Tower Bridge will be closed to pedestrian traffic for 30 minutes leading up to and after the firework show. Partygoers can reserve their city parking garage space ahead of time using SacPark, and light rail will be operating with extended hours.  Hotel deals are also available for those who don’t want to miss a moment of the fun.

For those who can’t make it out for the festivities, ABC 10 is airing a New Year’s Eve special from 8:45-9:15 featuring the celebration and a live broadcast of the fireworks. With a simultaneous feed from Times Square, your family can count down as the ball drops while watching our spectacular local fireworks display.
