Spooky Halloween draws near, and it’s not too early to celebrate! This weekend kicks off many a Halloween Haunt, and several are already in full gear. Sacramento Kings 1st Annual Fun Run1st Annual Fun Run: A Kings' Family Friendly 5K Course: Power Balance Pavilion; Oct 22, Sat 9am
The Sacramento Kings and Power Balance, with special guest Doug Christie, are teaming up to host a 5K Fun Run/Walk to promote the positive benefits of exercise and living a healthy lifestyle. In the spirit of Halloween, come dressed in your favorite costume. There will be a post-race expo complete with activities for the family as well as costume contest.

The Safetyville USA village takes on a harvest theme! Activities for the day include live music, a costume parade, games, trick-or-treating, music, a Halloween Maze, food pumpkins, and performance by magician Trevor Wyatt!

Watch Lucio Fulci’s classic 1979 gorefest Zombie and come for Sacramento’s most infamous film festival, featuring audience participation, games, costume contests, prizes, live bloody stage show, & the feature presentation.

This hilarious live stage show takes all the elements of the cult classic horror films, Evil Dead 1, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness, then combines them to make one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time.

Dave's Pumpkin Patch has lots of exciting activities and events, such as the haunted corn maze, craft fair, movie night, costume contests, and safe spot trick or treat...and of course the Punkin Chunkin will be back in full swing!

 

Old Sacramento Ghost ToursOld Sacramento Ghost Tours: Eagle Theatre; through Oct 29; Fri & Sat 6:30pm-9pm *Tours begin on the half-hour
Walk the streets of Old Sac on an eerie journey back in time. Venture through centuries of history and hear ghost stories dating to the Gold Rush era. Guides (and ghosts!) will relate tantalizing tales of how folks lived and died in our fair city.

 

Spookomotive Trains


Spookomotive Train Rides
: California State Railroad Museum; through Oct 30; Sat & Sun 11am-4pm *Trains depart on the hour
All aboard for some Halloween fun Old Sacramento style! The California State Railroad Museum is proud to offer diesel-powered Spookomotive train rides aboard a whimsically decorated train crawling with spiders, cobwebs and cornstalks while staffed with an entertaining “skeleton crew.”

 

Governor's MansionThe Mansion After Dark: Governor’s Mansion State Historic Park; Oct 21 & Oct 29; Sat 6pm-9pm
Dimly lit with darkened rooms and “coffin corners,” the Mansion will be a decked out in Halloween decor for guests to see the historic site in a whole new light. With costumed characters and scary music to set the mood, storytellers captivate visitors with tales of the past lives of governors and fortune tellers share predictions about interesting futures.
