The California State Fair and Food Festival is back in Sacramento July 12-28. This favorite Sacramento summer tradition brings a plethora of rides, fair food, live music, animals, competitions, cooking challenges, and more to Cal Expo. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s fair.
Tickets:
Tickets to the fair and food festival start at $16 for adults and $10 for children. If you’re looking to purchase tickets for the whole family, the “Fun Pack,” which includes four single-day general admission tickets, four ride tickets, and one parking pass, is only $49.99. Tickets can be purchased online on the California State Fair website.
2024 Toyota Concert Series:
This year’s Toyota Concert Series features performances by Cole Swindell, Chris Young, Flo Rida, The Beach Boys, Vanilla Ice, Mickey Guyton Tone Loc, Lukas Nelson, Bush, and more. Cal Expo encourages all attendees to purchase tickets directly from CalExpoStateFair.com as they cannot guarantee the authenticity of tickets sold by third-party vendors.
Taste of the Fair:
Looking to eat your way through the State Fair? With food ranging from a bacon and pecan cinnamon roll to all your favorite fried fair food classics, Taste of the Fair is a great way to try bite-sized versions of all your favorite fair foods for $4 each. Competitions:
The State Fair wouldn’t be complete without competitions highlighting the best of California’s traditions, culture, and cuisine. This year’s competitions include livestock competitions, art competitions, the California Commercial Wine competition, California Cannabis competition, California Commercial Craft Beer competition, California Commercial Cheese competition, and more.
Exhibits & Shows:
There are a number of exhibits and shows to keep you entertained at the fair all day long. This year’s exhibits include a candy maze exhibit where attendees can make their way through 14 candy-themed photo stations, the California Fresh Exhibit where attendees can learn more about the state’s specialty crops, and the Tree Circus where attendees can climb vertical ropes and see climbing demonstrations from professional arborists. Some of this year’s shows and attractions include a comedy hypnosis show, pig racing, thoroughbred horse racing, motocross, and more.
Parking:
Parking at the Cal Expo fairgrounds is $15 and cash-only, unless purchased as part of a package.
