Since being proclaimed America's Farm-to-Fork Capital in October 2012, Sacramento has really had the opportunity to share with the world the farm-to-fork culture locals have been living and enjoying for years. The region is home to nearly 8,000 boutique farms and the largest Certified Farmers Market in California. As a result, local restaurants regularly feature local produce, meat, fish and dairy products on their menus each and every season.

While this agricultural abundance is available to us all year long, September is Sacramento's month of celebration.  The region comes together and offers the community a variety of events highlighting the bounty that is available to us.  Among the variety of events, the family-friendly Farm-to-Fork Festival on Capitol Mall on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 offers something for everyone including the young, the old, the foodie, the wine connoisseur and even the simple people-watcher.  This FREE festival is definitely an event you won't want to miss.

Designed to showcase where our food and drinks come from, the festival will include cooking demonstrations, wine and beer gardens, opportunities to meet farmers and growers, food trucks and live music.  For the kids, an animal exhibit and education area, the National Ag Science Center's mobile classroom Ag in Motion, Radio Disney, and other fun activities designed to teach kids about farm to fork will be on hand.
