American Art Therapy Association

Art is food for the soul...
but art therapists also know food is good for hungry families.

During its 41st annual conference (Nov. 3-7), American Art Therapy Association is working with the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. Conference attendees are encouraged to contribute
non-perishable food items for local families in need.

In addition,
delegates are invited to loan their creativity to help create a sculpture from boxed, canned and packaged donations. The public display will raise awareness about community service, art therapy, and performance art.

People who live and/or work in downtown and midtown Sacramento are welcome to participate. Simply bring non-perishable food gifts to the Sacramento Convention Center (1400 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814) through Nov. 7. Special thanks to Robin Valicenti for coordinating.

The Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau helps out-of-town visitors give back to the global community we share. Local service projects build camaraderie among conference attendees, and create a unique memory of the host city. If you are a meeting planner who is interested in voluntourism, visit discovergold.org to learn more.
