Theatre: A Grand Night for Singing

Brian Goggin is well known for his public artwork at the Sac International Airport, titled Samson. He creates site-specific sculpture-often with whimsical & unexpected elements. Goggin was recently selected to create a public artwork for Firestation 43, located in North Natomas. He will discuss his past work as well as the public art design & concept for Firestation 43.

Crocker Art Museum
Like a modern-day Goya, Helnwein's art addresses themes of inhumanity, violence, and the virtue of personal expression. Join Associate Curator Diana Daniels for an intimate conversation with Helnwein, who will discuss his artistic processes and inspirations. This conversation is in conjunction with the opening of Helnwein's Inferno of the Innocents exhibition.

The Sacramento French Film Festival presents a one-of-a-kind event: the North-American premiere of An Italian Straw Hat, one of the most famous & funny French silent films directed by René Clair, with new musical score. Music will be performed live by twelve musicians from the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra.

Donna Helmich, dynamic soprano, will be performing a variety of works about love, betrayal, pirates, and a wonderful work from Bach's Magnificat. Michelle Xioa, renowned violinist, will play a dramatic selection of works, including Song of India and Zapateada by Sarasate. The American Watercolor Society International Traveling Exhibition is on view in the gallery.
