Pianist Mark Valenti will perform works by American composers in addition to a new work inspired by the artwork of Paul Jenkins.



Fred DalkeySacramento Living Library: Fred & Victoria Dalkey

Time Tested Books; Sun 7pm

Hosted by Tim Foster of Midtown Monthly. Fred Dalkey is a well-known local artist and educator; Victoria Dalkey is the longtime art critic for the Sacramento Bee. This cultural "power couple" will speak about the history of the Sacramento arts.

Museums: Presidents' Day at the Crocker Art Museum

Museums: Presidents’ Day at the Crocker
Crocker Art Museum; Mon 10am-5pm

Hear the Sacramento Youth Symphony perform patriotic songs, such as “America the Beautiful” and “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” at 2pm. Discover works of art celebrating the USA on a “Patriotic Tour” at 10:15am, Noon, and 2pm. From Noon-3pm, explore the meaning of our nation’s symbols while making a paper version of our national flower, and putting together an Uncle Sam-style top hat. Activities are free with Museum admission.


Disney On Ice: Let's CelebrateKids & Fam: Disney On Ice: Let’s Celebrate
Arco Arena; Mon Noon & 4pm

Disney On Ice presents Let's Celebrate! It's one colossal party on ice, with all your favorite Disney friends! Enjoy a winter wonderland with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, a Halloween haunt with the Disney Villains, a Very Merry Unbirthday Party, a Royal Ball with the Disney Princesses and more in a magical medley of holidays, celebrations, and festivals from around the globe.


Discovery Museum: Space Quest ExhibitKids & Fam: Presidents’ Day Special
Discovery Museum; Mon 12:30pm-4pm

Looking for something to do this Presidents’ Day? Visit the Space Quest! exhibit. There is weekend programming that day, so there’s something for everyone, including a paper shuttle craft for youth 12 & under. Planetarium shows at 1pm & 3pm are included with admission (ages 4 & above only); live animal shows at Noon & 2pm are for all ages. Morning & afternoon Astronomy badges for Cub Scouts--prior registration required.

Music and Nightlife: Rocky Votolato

Harlow’s; Mon 7:30pm

Rocky Votolato is folk songwriting through a punk rock blend. His music is informed by a classic singer-songwriter folk sound with indie rock stylings.



Old Ironsides: Sacramento Nightlife: Strapped for Cash

Strapped for Cash is a free live music performance every Monday at Old Ironsides.


Sacramento Nightlife: Triva and Movie Night at Captiol Garage

Sacramento Nightlife: Trivia & Movie Night
Capitol Garage; Mon 9:30pm-Midnight

Every Monday, Capital Garage hosts Trivia & Movie Night, with $3 drink specials and $4 shot specials.
