SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) has appointed Angelina Nunez Convention Sales Manager with a full-time emphasis on the faith-based market in an effort to leverage the Religious Conference Management Association's (RCMA) Sacramento debut in 2014.

The event has previously not convened in Sacramento and represents a tremendous opportunity to showcase the city to influential meeting planners from across the U.S.

Historically, Sacramento has been successful in attracting religious meetings and Ms. Nunez will concentrate on the retention and future growth of this important market segment for both city-wide and single hotel pieces of business. She brings 12 years of hotel experience in sales, convention services and meetings to her position, most recently as group sales manager with the DoubleTree by Hilton in Sacramento. Prior to relocating to Sacramento, Nunez spent seven years at the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels in San Jose where she consistently exceeded her sales goals.

Nunez received a number of awards during her career including Employee of the Month, Manager of the Quarter and the 2010 DoubleTree by Hilton Million Dollar Booking Club. She's also a member of RCMA.

"Angelina has a well-rounded hospitality background and will be a tremendous asset to our convention sales team," said Mike Testa, the SCVB's Senior Vice President of Convention Sales. Clients can reach Nunez at 916-808-7405 oranunez@cityofsacramento.org
