SACRAMENTO,CA-The Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Testa to Senior Vice President, Convention Sales & Business Development.
Testa has been with the SCVB since 2001, most recently as Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs. He will continue in his business development role by overseeing our partner marketing, travel media, film commission and community relations departments as he takes on his additional responsibility.
Testa's career includes work for the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, Townsend, Raimundo, Besler & Usher, and PGT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PG&E.
"Mike's passion for our organization, his understanding of our product and his relationship with our stakeholders -combined with twenty years of staff management experience and ten years of industry experience make him the right choice for this role," said Steve Hammond, president and CEO of the SCVB. "It was important to find someone who knows how to effectively motivate and challenge a team to achieve top level results and who has demonstrated that he can meet organizational goals. We are fortunate to have Mike on the Sacramento CVB team and know that he'll further the momentum that we've been able to achieve."
Testa's new role was effective on January 3, 2011.
The mission of the SCVB is to strengthen the positive awareness of the City and County of Sacramento as a convention and visitor destination to increase revenues and stimulate economic development for the community.
